Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Effective Date: 22 Jun 26
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using #Contact (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App and delete it from your device immediately.
2. Purpose and App Functionality
#Contact is a utility application designed to act as your device's Default Phone Handler, call screening utility, and contact manager. The App provides an interface for managing your address book, viewing call logs, blocking unwanted numbers, and facilitating telecommunications via your device’s cellular network. The App relies on your local device hardware and your mobile carrier to execute calls.
3. Emergency Services Disclaimer
Crucial Notice Regarding Emergency Calls: This App is a third-party dialer interface and is not a native replacement for your cellular provider's emergency services routing infrastructure.
The App does not route voice-over-IP (VoIP) emergency calls over the internet.
Dialing emergency numbers (e.g., 911, 112, 999) will automatically be deferred to your device's native system telecom handler or your mobile carrier network as mandated by Android OS protocols.
We bear no responsibility or liability for failed emergency calls, dropped connections, or carrier network outages.
4. System Permissions and Data Processing
To function correctly, the App requires you to grant specific Android system permissions, including but not limited to:
Core Telephony: Accessing your Contacts (READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS), Call Logs (READ_CALL_LOG, WRITE_CALL_LOG), and Calling Operations (CALL_PHONE, ANSWER_PHONE_CALLS, READ_PHONE_STATE, PROCESS_OUTGOING_CALLS, MANAGE_OWN_CALLS).
Hardware & Alerts: Using the Camera (CAMERA) strictly for contact-related QR code scanning via our integrated ZXing utility, and system alerts (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW, USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT) to draw the incoming call UI over other apps.
Network & Identifiers: Utilizing Internet access (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE) and the Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) to load required third-party services.
By using the App, you consent to these permissions. Core contact and call data are stored and handled strictly locally on your device via our secure local database architecture (androidx.room).
5. Third-Party Services & Monetization
The App integrates third-party software development kits (SDKs) that govern portions of the App's network activities:
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): The App displays advertisements. AdMob may access device identifiers, ad IDs, and telemetry data to track ad performance and serve targeted or non-targeted advertising.
Google Firebase: The App uses Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Remote Config to track performance, map crash data, and dynamically adjust local app settings.
Firebase Cloud Messaging: The App uses push notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) to send non-intrusive service messages or call reminders.
In-App Billing: The App contains configuration hooks (InAppBillingService) to support optional digital purchases or billing compliance testing through the Google Play Store.
Your interactions with these features are subject to both these Terms and the respective terms of service of Google LLC.
6. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws. You agree not to:
Use the App to initiate illegal telecommunications, spoofing, automated robocalling, or unlawful harassment.
Modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code or integrated assets (such as Lottie animations or third-party layouts) of the App.
Interfere with or attempt to bypass the ad-serving mechanisms or payment processing systems embedded in the App.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis. Because the App relies entirely on your local device hardware, Android operating system environment (targeting API 36), and your mobile network provider, we make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:
The continuous, completely error-free, or uninterrupted operation of the phone dialer interface.
Call quality, connection stability, or cellular network availability.
The absolute accuracy of background alarm scheduling tools (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM) or background receivers.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of #Contact shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in any way connected with your use of or inability to use the App. This includes, but is not limited to, missed calls, lost contact records, local database corruption, network data overages from ad rendering, or inability to connect to emergency services.
9. Modifications to the Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time to maintain compliance with Google Play Developer Policies, updated Android system requirements, or modified monetization models. Continued use of the App following any published updates constitutes your explicit acceptance of the revised terms.
10. Contact Information
Because this App utilizes automated third-party diagnostics and local data storage without proprietary user account creation, we do not maintain a centralized, manual support ticketing desk. For inquiries, bug reports, or customer feedback, please interact with us via the official developer contact channel and review section provided on the App's Google Play Store listing page.
